Got mine currently and couldn't wait to test it out. Filled with distilled water to about 1/2" under the "max fill" mark. Took about a minute for water to boil. I gotta admit, it's a little scary at 1st to be toting around this container of furiously boiling water.
Attempted it first on an old cotton shirt that I had already stuffed into a corner of the closet, to wrinkle it on goal. It took a when, and I got the shirt "relaxed" but not "smooth". Aside from a extremely occasional drop (which evaporated away on the next pass), I did not have any challenges with it spitting hot water.
Subsequent test: a wool blazer, now that I wasn't concerned about spraying boiling water all more than it. I put to use the lint brush attachment, and hey! This point truly works!
