Consumer Critiques

I have the Jiffy J2000m steamer at residence. When I was visting my cousin for Christmas and could not live without a steamer, I bought this a single for my take a look at and left it as a gift. It heats fairly easily and operates just as effectively and the larger $223 Jiffy. I'm going to pack up the Jiffy and purchase this one for each day use.

I purchased this after wanting a steamer for years. I refused to pay a ton, and I didn't want a flimsy cheap unit with no energy.
This steamer appears like a awesome compromise.
Makes lots of steam, rapidly. Within 40 seconds or so following you turn it on. Does spit a tiny bit, as other folks have mentioned. I don't use it on anything delicate anyway. Especially impressed with the brush attachment and how nicely it works to get out wrinkles. I am a typical lazy guy, so I often end up digging clothes out of the dryer just after they've sat in there a few days. Inside a minute the garment is ready to wear.
Not rather robust sufficient to get set in wrinkles out of heavy fabric such as jeans that are certainly bad.
Had a 45-minute water jug with minute indicators. We had been careful at initial and normally emptied it immediately after use, etc... but lately we just leave it filled up and turn it on when needed. Fairly handy all about.
Extremely advised as a first steamer or if upgrading from a wimpy one.

Customer Critiques

Just after a lot research - I decided on having the perfect machine on the market place!
I just received my Jiffy Steamer J-4000 Pro-Line Series Garment Steamer a handful of days ago, and rather frankly, I'm amazed at its effectiveness!
Initial of all, assembling it was incredibly uncomplicated - took no extra than 5 minutes. The machine comes with no extra than four-5 pieces to put together, and a wrench is included for absolutely free (so no added personal tools necessary). It comes on casters for simply mobility. It does not take substantially storage area (20 inches wide - ten inch depth).
It has 3 settings: Off, Preheat and Steam, so there is no complication. Also, it has automatic shut-off - and the very best portion: if you are planning to use it all through the day, you can leave it on preheat to conserve water! Just switch to steam when prepared and you are prepared to steam straight away!
When assembled, you pour no more than 4 quarts of water (tap water or distilled water is fine) into the machine (whereas it is off), then turn on, switch the setting to "pre-heat", then wait about 15 minutes. You know it's ready to be switched to "steam" when the indicator light starts blinking on and off. You then switch to steam and wait about two minutes for the steam to get started. Then you happen to be ready to go (and go and go - this machine is capable of over 1.5 hours of steam time!)
Steaming the clothes is pretty basic. As you go along, you are going to identify that some fabrics steam significantly less complicated than other folks, and you are going to find out different approaches of steaming totally different forms of fabric. Some fabrics do perfectly steaming from the outside - some lend themselves far better to the steaming process if you steam from the INSIDE of the garment. Other fabrics take longer to steam, other people take only a handful of minutes. But in all situations - hold the fabric taut with a single hand when steaming - helps take away the wrinkles more rapidly!
Just make positive you preserve the steamhead in an upright position when steaming so the condensation can go back into the machine - if you do not do this - you are going to hear a lot of sputtering. To stop the sputter, just location the steam head on its storage hanger and it will cease quickly!
In addition to removing wrinkles, this steamer assists eliminate smells from fabric!
The only "shortcoming" about this machine is that steaming long dresses is cumbersome (but not impossible). The steamer stands approx. five feet tall (I am 5'2) - however, long garments/dresses call for you to get on your knees or sit down on the floor or chair to steam comfortably. In spite of this, if you happen to be sitting on the floor, just after various minutes of steaming, you get started to hear sputtering and then you have to stop and location steamhead upright again. But the height might be sector typical. Even so, so much fantastic outweighs this smaller inconvenience, that I would be willing to LAY DOWN on the floor to steam dresses!
In summary, I suggest this machine 100%. Don't settle for cheapies - in the extended run they may possibly expense you alot more to own than this "workhorse"!

Let's get a single point out of the way here.... I HATE IRONING!
I'm a 20-something bachelor, and even though I know how to iron, I've constantly hated the certain mixture of tediousness/meticulousness necessary to get ALL the wrinkles out of clothes. So a lot so, that unless it is a particular occasion, I just do the leave the clothes hanging in the bathroom whereas I take a shower (and hope for the perfect).
Enter the J-4000 Jiffy steamer. I'd heard legends about steamers getting superb to use and much easier/quicker than ironing. But the only people I'd known had the hand steamers, which had been at all times garbage, and the large models often expense several times even the fanciest iron. My parents eventually purchased a low-level conair huge steamer and put to use it for about a week. In my mom's words, it perform nice, but it just didn't generate enough steam, so points took forever.
Now I not too long ago moved up in position at my job, and the wrinkled recent bachelor look just will not fly any longer. So I saw this throughout an Amazon Friday sale for a "buck seventy-5" with free shipping, did a little analysis, and saw this was the Cadillac of steamers. Understanding Amazon's exceptional buyer service, I ordered this, figuring if this did not perform as advertised, I'd return it, and close the door on steamers forever (and hope that someday I could afford a monthly dry-cleaning service).
But it worked When I broke this out on laundry day, I was initially greeted by a load of laundry I'd accidentally left in the drier for two weeks. If there was ever a test for the de-wrinkling powers of this steamer, some creases that have been pressed for two weeks ought to do it. But even on those, even the most wrinkled shirt/sweater took only about a minute and a half.
The factor operates like a breeze, is a snap to assemble, and produces a bunch of steam. The only drawback I see is that it is a small oddly-shaped, so it's kind of difficult to shop with out breaking down, but breakdown only takes about 30 seconds.
I also saw in the brochure that there is a steam board that you can put on the wall, which may possibly make points even much easier, as it will avoid garments from swaying though getting steamed, but Amazon doesn't sell it. It is pricey on Jiffy Steamer's internet site. I might possibly end up making a property-produced version, as it doesn't appear that complex.
But the finish outcome is that even this iron-hating bachelor does not thoughts dewrinkling his clothes anymore. I wish I'd bought this factor years ago :)

Buyer Reviews

This SUNBEAM Garment Steamer gets the Job performed! begins making steam in less than a minute. I made use of it on my wool suits and some shirts and it got the wrinkles out at no time! I would suggest it for anyone that is seeking for a decent steamer and a reasonable price.

Ahead of I bought the Sunbeam S1400, I purchased a Conair GS4R Steamer for a couple of dollars less. The Sunbeam is far sturdier and less complicated to handle. They both steam wrinkles out, but the Sunbeam does so with less work. Are you going to effectively steam a cotton dress shirt so it appears like it came from a commercial laundry? Not a likelihood! I bought my steamers particularly for removing wrinkles from men's suits and slacks. It performs.

Customer Critiques

(I published this identical critique for the Jiffy)
My father bought the Rowenta locally and I tried it out. I'd been wanting an straightforward-to-use steamer so I checked Amazon. The Jiffy has gotten wonderful evaluations whereas the Rowenta has gotten ok reviews (most negatives are about durability.) I ordered the Jiffy and borrowed my Dad's so I could compare them.
Very first let me say that I want a quick and simple and easy steamer mainly to get wrinkles out of Tshirts, shorts, jeans,button-downs etc that I didn't take out of the dryer fast sufficient. I generally will not be steaming complete suits, and so on.
The Rowenta is incredibly speedy to heat up and start steaming. It literally takes about 30 seconds.
The Jiffy takes about three minutes. That is still quick but if you are in a actually large rush...
When the Rowenta is heated up it fundamentally just sits idle. I don't assume it is losing any water although idle due to the fact there's no steam coming out. When the Jiffy is heated up the water is literally boiling inside. You can see and hear it boiling. It regularly releases steam. The negative element about this is if you need to pause for a bit (answer telephone, do some thing else...) then the water continues to get employed up. In my case it was pumping out hot steam heating up the bathroom and fogging up the mirror. This brings me to one of the larger complaints about the Rowenta-the water capacity. The Rowenta without a doubt holds much less water than the Jiffy but I discovered the Rowenta to be more real-globe handy. 1) given that it only releases steam only when you have to have it (you push the button) and 2) mainly because the Rowenta heats up so quickly the capacity isn't considerably of an situation.
Also, the Jiffy gets hot on the exterior-real hot. So it is not that quick to refill immediately for the reason that you have to be cautious not to burn oneself. Just after you're finished applying the Jiffy it really is too hot to put away. You have to leave it and let it cool down. When you're steaming with the Jiffy it really is also uncomplicated to burn your fingers with the steam. If you do not maintain it perfectly upright it leaks quickly and the drops honestly burn you. If you get yourself with the steam you say, "OW!". If you get your self with the drops you say, "OW S%, son of a..."
The Rowenta does not get quite hot on the exterior. If you steam your fingers it does not definitely hurt. I also made a dumb mistake when initially attempting the Rowenta. I left it plugged in lying on best of some clothing for a couple hours. Of course I don't recommend this but nonetheless it wasn't that hot and the clothes it was lying on were in no apparent danger of burning. I think you are supposed to attempt and keep them both upright when steaming but often you want to turn it to reach a spot. I don't recall the Rowenta leaking when I did that. If it did, it wasn't hot enough for me to don't forget.
I'm certain lots of persons consider the hotter steam of the Jiffy to be a plus over Rowenta but I did not uncover this to be the case. Yes the Jiffy is hotter but it just 'boils' steam out of the openings. The Rowenta is less hot but it 'blasts' the steam out when you push the button. The blasting effect seemed to virtually, but not entirely, make up for the difference in heat. Also, the extra heat of the Jiffy created the clothing soggy so if you touched a element that you'd already steamed it would generate new wrinkles. Touching the parts that you currently steamed with the Rowenta didn't genuinely appear to build new wrinkles. I put to use both steamers on the exact same 3 pieces of clothes for about the very same amount of time. I employed the Rowenta on one particular side and the Jiffy on the other. I didn't tell my wife which was which and asked her which looked better. They were all generally as well close to evaluate.
I have a toddler so there was unquestionably a safety situation for me. If she had been to pull the cord and pull the Jiffy down on herself while on( or even five-10 mins following you've unplugged it)she could be seriously injured and scarred. If she had been to pull the Rowenta down it very likely wouldn't be a massive concern.
So I ordered a Rowenta for myself and am sending the Jiffy back. I am not saying the Jiffy is a bad piece of gear, it just is not speedy and simple like the Rowenta. I really feel as if I required something that performs like the Jiffy I'd rather just get an upright steamer.
In summary, the Rowenta is safer, quicker, and less complicated-- for my purposes anyway. It is also more affordable. Only time will tell about the durability.

fantastic product sent ahead of promised time by Amazon I had an older version for about 20 years, and haven't utilised an iron because i owned it. I loved it till it died. The new a single is a similar design but sturdier w/extra possibilities. I Adore IT.

Client Reviews

I recently returned the Rowenta Pro Compact steamer in exchange for this "commercial" steamer.
It definitely is a massive improvement. The extra 150 watts of steaming energy tends to make a noticeable difference.
There are quite a few characteristics that make this a superb unit. The significant 1 gallon water tank is clear and painless to eliminate and refill. The on/off switch and the automatic cord reel are each foot actuated. There are two onboard accessories bins that maintain the attachments from disappearing. The steam is potent, plentiful and actually rolling out in 60 seconds. Also, the unit is really sturdy.
Unfortunately, there are a few design flaws and disappointing difficulties. The two large wheels do not roll on my hardwood floors nor on my carpet. As an alternative as you drag the machine it leaves a good trail of marks on the floor. The telescoping handles are not secured into the base of the machine and pull out when you try to lift the machine. Also, this unit did not come with a handy plastic brush attachment that the more affordable unit did.
Acquiring said all this, the Rowenta Precision Valet Steamer does a great job of removing stubborn wrinkle swiftly and readily.

I have to wear business enterprise attire to function daily. I purchased this steamer with the hope that I could cut down on my dry-cleaning bill and keep away from the chemicals put to use by dry cleaners by undertaking my own ironing. I was particularly hoping that I could use this to manage washing and ironing my dress shirts, which grow to be wrinkly following a single use and dirty right after a couple wears. I have a regular table iron that I have utilised for over a decade to iron my clothes, but it just takes as well lengthy to adequately iron a dress shirt. I was hoping this steamer was the answer to my dilemma however, it is not.
The steamer simply can not manage dress shirts adequately, other than taking out relatively easy creases on the flat areas of the front and back. If you have a freshly washed cotton dress shirt that is good and wrinkly out of the dryer, look elsewhere for aid. And forget about ironing the sleeves anything other than a minor touch-up and you are going to be disappointed. If you've observed the video of the unit on Bed, Bath and Beyond's site, do not be fooled (like I was). The unit does not perform pretty as proficiently on dress shirts as the video indicates.
The primary problem -- as far as I can tell -- is that the unit suffers from a style flaw there is no backboard against which one particular can press the shirt, so one particular has to akwardly pull down on the shirt, generating it impossible to avoid unintended creasing. Possibly if there was a clip on the bottom that a single could use to hold the shirt stretched out (like the comparable Haan unit), it would be much easier to maneuver around some of the tougher components of the dress shirt, like the sides and sleeves. But given that the unit has no such function, you have to use your off hand to pull the bottom of the shirt so that it is straight enough to be ironed. Not only is this ineffective, but it's harmful, as you are consistently at risk of steaming your hand (which I nearly did twice on my initial attempt).
To Rowenta's credit, the steam hose seemed to work well and the pressure of the steam was constant. I attempted the unit on some of my dress slacks and suit coats, and it seemed okay for purposes of minor touch-ups as to those items of clothes. But I am not convinced that this restricted usefulness is worth the value tag. Also, I've read some critiques in which customers complained about the wheels the wheels are a tiny sticky, but I did not have significant difficulties with transporting the unit about my apartment (on carpet, rug, or difficult-wood floor). General, the unit is somewhat sturdy, so I wasn't definitely worried about tipping the unit over. A minor complaint is that the deal with where the hose is supposed to rest is also exactly where hangers are supposed to be placed, so you have to hold on to the hose when taking products on and off.
Bottom line for me: If the unit worked effectively sufficient to serve as an sufficient substitute for dry-cleaning my dress shirts, I would certainly hold it. But considering it doesn't, I will be returning it. If you don't will need it for dress shirts (other than minor touch-ups), this could possibly not be a negative solution for you.

Consumer Critiques

I compared this travel model with the full-size J-2000 steamer. They had been both particularly great at removing wrinkles from business-sort clothes. We steamed a complete week's wardrobe, and the clothes completed with the travel steamer looked just as fantastic as the other individuals. The only drawback to the travel model is connected to its modest size - it desires to be refilled just about every 3-6 garments, and the smaller steam head indicates that it takes longer to steam an item. Yet, I in reality identified that the tiny steam head worked far better on tiny regions like collars and cuffs, in particular given that it has squared corners. The corners mean that you do have to be a bit careful with delicate knits, though. Worth the cost if you certainly require to appear your finest when you travel.

My father purchased the Rowenta locally and I attempted it out. I'd been wanting an effortless-to-use steamer so I checked Amazon. The Jiffy has gotten good critiques whereas the Rowenta has gotten ok reviews (most negatives are about durability.) I ordered the Jiffy and borrowed my Dad's so I could evaluate them.
First let me say that I want a rapid and easy steamer largely to get wrinkles out of Tshirts, shorts, jeans,button-downs etc that I didn't take out of the dryer fast adequate. I typically will not be steaming complete suits, etc.
The Rowenta is extremely swift to heat up and commence steaming. It literally takes about 30 seconds.
The Jiffy takes about 3 minutes. That is nonetheless rapidly but if you happen to be in a actually big rush...
When the Rowenta is heated up it fundamentally just sits idle. I don't consider it's losing any water when idle due to the fact there's no steam coming out. When the Jiffy is heated up the water is literally boiling inside. You can see and hear it boiling. It consistently releases steam. The bad portion about this is if you have to have to pause for a bit (answer telephone, do anything else...) then the water continues to get made use of up. In my case it was pumping out hot steam heating up the bathroom and fogging up the mirror. This brings me to one of the bigger complaints about the Rowenta-the water capacity. The Rowenta unquestionably holds much less water than the Jiffy but I located the Rowenta to be much more genuine-planet handy. 1) mainly because it only releases steam only when you will need it (you push the button) and two) because the Rowenta heats up so quickly the capacity is not considerably of an issue.
Also, the Jiffy gets hot on the exterior-actual hot. So it really is not that simple and easy to refill speedily since you have to be careful not to burn your self. Immediately after you happen to be finished utilizing the Jiffy it's as well hot to put away. You have to leave it and let it cool down. When you happen to be steaming with the Jiffy it really is also painless to burn your fingers with the steam. If you don't maintain it perfectly upright it leaks conveniently and the drops actually burn you. If you get your self with the steam you say, "OW!". If you get yourself with the drops you say, "OW S%, son of a..."
The Rowenta doesn't get particularly hot on the exterior. If you steam your fingers it does not actually hurt. I also produced a dumb mistake when initially trying the Rowenta. I left it plugged in lying on best of some clothes for a couple hours. Of course I don't suggest this but nonetheless it wasn't that hot and the clothes it was lying on were in no apparent danger of burning. I think you're supposed to try and preserve them both upright while steaming but typically you want to turn it to reach a spot. I do not recall the Rowenta leaking when I did that. If it did, it wasn't hot enough for me to keep in mind.
I am confident many consumers consider the hotter steam of the Jiffy to be a plus over Rowenta but I didn't locate this to be the case. Yes the Jiffy is hotter but it just 'boils' steam out of the openings. The Rowenta is much less hot but it 'blasts' the steam out when you push the button. The blasting impact seemed to just about, but not completely, make up for the difference in heat. Also, the added heat of the Jiffy produced the clothing soggy so if you touched a component that you'd currently steamed it would develop new wrinkles. Touching the parts that you already steamed with the Rowenta did not really seem to create new wrinkles. I made use of both steamers on the very same 3 pieces of clothes for about the exact same quantity of time. I used the Rowenta on one side and the Jiffy on the other. I did not tell my wife which was which and asked her which looked superior. They were all fundamentally also close to compare.
I have a toddler so there was absolutely a safety problem for me. If she had been to pull the cord and pull the Jiffy down on herself although on( or even 5-ten mins right after you've unplugged it)she could be seriously injured and scarred. If she were to pull the Rowenta down it likely wouldn't be a big concern.
So I ordered a Rowenta for myself and am sending the Jiffy back. I'm not saying the Jiffy is a bad piece of gear, it just is not speedy and effortless like the Rowenta. I really feel as if I required anything that performs like the Jiffy I'd rather just get an upright steamer.
In summary, the Rowenta is safer, quicker, and less complicated-- for my purposes anyway. It's also more affordable. Only time will tell about the durability.
